I am always one for a challenge. After making several pretty normal books, I decided I wanted to up the ante and try a layered book! Here is my book all about the 5 senses:

This book is on the thicker side since it is not double sided – but it’s worth it! Here we go!
Print all pages on card stock, single sided. There are four scenes: the forest, a library, the farm, and the beach.
Cut each page just to the left of the black line. This will create the edge of the page as you turn them. (Think The Very Hungry Caterpillar)

After you have cut each page to size, take your straight edge and bend each page for the binding. My straight edge is just a bit over 1″ wide, but a regular ruler will be just fine.

Each section has 6 tabs, or pages. It should look like this when you are finished.

You can stick them in any order, really, just make sure each packet has the smallest page on top and the largest page on the bottom.
Once you have all the pages cut, begin with the bottom page and put some glue on the binding, adding each smaller page on top.

When you have finished a section and the smallest page is on top, add the next section’s LARGEST page. (If you keep them in the order in which they print, you should be good to go!)

Continue until you have reached the front cover. Add some duct tape to keep the binding in place.

Congratulations! ¡Felicidades! You are finished! Don’t hesitate to write in names of animals or even how to pronounce a few words. That’s the beauty of doing it on card stock. You can personalize it however you find the most helpful!
Enjoy! ¡Disfrutar!
